On Tuesday, September 10, the Town of Acton and the Operational Services Division are hosting an event for local businesses to learn about working with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. OSD staff will be on hand to discuss upcoming Statewide Contract bids and provide guidance on marketing their business to public buyers. Representatives from the state’s Supplier Diversity Office and local Chamber of Commerce also will be in attendance to provide information and resources to businesses. The event is being held at the Acton Town Hall from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
The Select Board, at its July 16 meeting, celebrated the accreditation of the Sudbury Department of Public Works (DPW) by the American Public Works Association (APWA). During that presentation, we learned that Sudbury’s DPW is the third in Massachusetts to achieve accreditation….
Sudbury Gets New Bruce Freeman Trail Grant For Extension To Framingham
The Sudbury Transportation Committee and MetroWest Regional Transit Authority were awarded a grant for a Catch Connect Sudbury Microtransit pilot program that will begin on July 1, 2024. We are hosting a special event to launch the new pilot transportation service on Thursday, June 6 at 1:00 PM at the Sudbury Senior Center and you are invited! See the attached flyers (we are awaiting further translations to Russian and Spanish). The launch event will have light refreshments and an introduction to the service from various speakers. The new service is targeted to provide service for older adults and residents with disabilities, but will be available to all residents.
This is a Microtransit service providing on demand, wheelchair-accessible transportation via an MWRTA van to all locations in Sudbury and along Route 20 in Marlborough up to and including the Target Store plaza (with connection to fixed route service at Target). The service will be available Monday-Friday from 12:00-6:00 PM beginning on July 1 for one year.
