July Fourth Parade - THANK YOU!!

July 4, 2022, was a beautiful day for a parade to celebrate America’s birthday. The sun was shining, and the temperature was perfect for a 2.5 mile walk.

The Sudbury Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all that participated in our hometown tradition.  This year’s theme was “Sudbury Salutes Hero’s, Helpers and Essential workers”.  Our float winners were:

Commercial: 1st place, Tales by the Wayside, 2nd place, Duck Soup, and 3rd Place, Distinctly New England.

Community: 1st place, First Baptist Church, 2nd Place, Sudbury Bee’s, and 3rd Place, Carmyn, mobile gas refueling.

Friends, Family, and Neighborhood: 1st place, Cutler Farm, 2nd Place, Leagues of Women Voters, and 3rd Place, Reach

We would also like to thank all that watched from the sidelines.  It wouldn’t be a parade without an audience. After a two-year covid hiatus it was so wonderful to see all the smiling faces and the children, decked out in their red, white, and blue, scampering for candy and treats.

Though our committee is small it takes a village to pull off this parade. We would like to say a special thanks to the Sudbury Police, Fire and Public Works departments, CERT, Herb Chambers, Sudbury Farms, Shaw’s, Mike Carney, Paul Cavicchio, Robinson’s Hardware, Graphics Connection, Sudbury Antique Exchange, NB Taylor RE, Berkshire Hathaway Stephan RE, to name just a few.

July 4, 2023, is less than a year away. It is never too early to start thinking about participating for next year.  We would love to hear from anyone looking to Volunteer (High school students can earn community service hours). If you would like to reach us, email; parade@sudbury.org

Have a great summer!!

The Parade Committee
