The 2014 Fourth of July Parade – We Need Your Support!

KEEPING the TRADITION ALIVE:

For the past 24 years, the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce has taken over the responsibility for the town’s 4th of July Parade. The parade theme this year is CELEBRATE 375- Happy Birthday Sudbury in tribute to the September 4, 2014 375th Anniversary date of Sudbury’s incorporation. The Sudbury Celebrates 375 Committee has an exciting schedule of events throughout 2014 to mark this historic milestone.

Our 8-person committee work hard all year to recruit the best bands and entertainers to participate in our town’s annual celebration. Our July 4th parade continues our hometown tradition to build fond memories for adults and children alike.

I would personally like to thank Mike Hamill and his committee, Steve Davis, TJ Peters, Chuck Marley, Pat and Tom Blanchette and of course Libby and Olivia Hamill for their tireless work year in and year out.

Additionally, we need to send a very special thank you to the Sudbury Police Department and the Sudbury Fire Department for the work they do in keeping us safe. Most especially Chief Miles and Captain Doug Stone for helping with putting the flags up annually that line the parade route.

The Success of these events depends highly on donations from our members and the participation of the residents of Sudbury. The parade costs in excess of $30,000 per year and is funded by donations from the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce Member Business’s.  You can thank them by remembering to SHOP SUDBURY FIRST!

If you or your group is interested in entering a float in the parade, contact the parade committee at Parade@Sudbury.org
