The Meadow Walk project will be the redevelopment of the former Raytheon site. Last Tuesday night the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the Development Agreement for the project (which includes several monetary contributions to the town – like $500K for fields, $100K for the Senior Center transportation needs, $850K for improved technology in Sudbury schools and municipal buildings, and $2 million in traffic improvements to Route 20, among other items). So in addition to getting a great project, the town also gets funds to mitigate impacts and improve town infrastructure. See the press release from Sudbury’s town web site for all the terms and contributions in the agreement.
The Board of Selectmen also unanimously voted to support all three Special Town Meeting articles for the project that will be voted on this coming Monday, June 13 at 7:30 at the LS Auditorium. We urge you to attend Special Town Meeting this Monday at 7:30 at the High School.
Here is the warrant: articles 1, 2 and 3 deal with the project, and note the map, it’s a good picture of what we’ll all be voting on: https://sudbury.ma.us/townmeeting/warrant_06-13-16_vf2/.
The vote on Monday, June 13 2016 is just for the Whole Foods, village-style retail, memory care facility and age-restricted condominiums. The adjoining 40B housing development is being permitted under a separate process before the Zoning Board of Appeals.
