“Communities Connected by Water” presentation to the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce – June 14, 2011
Nancy Bryant, Executive Director, SuAsCo Watershed Community Council
For the past fourteen years, Nancy has been the Executive Director of the SuAsCo Watershed Community Council, leading the organization from a “good idea” to a “successful reality”. This non-profit organization is comprised of representatives from businesses, municipal/state/federal and regional government, and environmental organizations. The Council’s mission is to “promote blue waters and a green economy through education and collaboration”. Nancy has led the Council to a strong and respected reputation in the watershed, organized the Council’s well attended annual “River Visions” conferences, created the “Stormwater Matters Program”, and recruited and managed volunteers. Promoting educational efforts through media interviews, press releases, website design, brochures, guest lectures, and representation on a number of local Boards, Nancy is truly known as the “voice of the SuAsCo”.
Nancy holds a Bachelors Degree from Bowdoin College, a Masters Degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley College. She has also worked as an environmental consultant, a science and math teacher, and as an aquatic biologist for the State of Vermont.
Tonight Nancy will be speaking to us about watersheds, stormwater, and what we can do to make a difference in improving our environment, specifically right here in the Sudbury-Assabet-Concord River Watershed.
