Sudbury Girls Cheerleading Squad Needs Your Help at Disney National Competition!

American Youth Football Association  is a national youth football and cheerleading organization. The Sudbury girls cheerleading squad has won first place at the regional’s and they now are going to the National competitions next week in Disney. JFYI this squad probably is better known to all under their former affiliation—Pop Warner.

Charlene Jackson, Colleen Fallo, and Mel Martinez are the head coaches along with 2 High School coaches. There are 19 cheerleaders, 4 coaches and multiple chaperones. Last year the squad made the town of Sudbury proud and took second place at the Nationals in Disney. This year we have a dilemma and that is that due to all town and state funding constraints and the fact that Pop Warner, who previously helped with the funding,  is no longer contributing scholarships to the girls truly in need nor any financial assistance to the others. We estimate between the airfare, hotels, buses and car rentals that the average expense per girl will exceed $1,000 each and there are approximately 32 individuals that are part of the program including coaches and chaperones.

It is unfortunate that there is no school funding for this important competition and we truly need your support. Simple math is we need $32,000.00 to fund the competition and any monies contributed will go first and foremost to the girls who need it the most. From a competitive standpoint this competition has significance to our town and I think this year they may very well win the whole thing. As a Sudbury business person this is a cause that needs your help and you will be put on our website and in the Town Crier Newspaper when the story gets out. As a human interest story I honestly can say from observation—-This is a reward able cause and greatly needed.

Checks should be sent and made out to Sudbury Youth Football and Cheer ( SYFC ) in care of Michelle Palmer the treasurer. JFYI Fed ID # 04-279678. Mail to 48 Thornberry Lane Sudbury MA 01776. Should you have any questions please call me, Anna Weiss , at 413-210-6561.

We greatly appreciate your generosity and Go Warriors!
